Student/Intern/Temporary Staff Hire

Unit need may warrant hiring a student/intern or a temporary staffing need may exist. Units may request to hire a student/intern or temporary staff by providing a justification for the need, a description of the work to be done and confirmation of budget availability to support the request.

Actions

Submit the student/intern/temporary staff request via the Action Request Form with required documents. Information to be included in requests for student/intern/temporary staff will include the following:

  1. Reason for the request
  2. Proposed work responsibilities position description (attach Word or PDF document)
  3. Any other information deemed appropriate

Upon receipt of request UTFI HR will review and respond. UTFI HR will take necessary action to hire the student/intern/temporary staff to meet the need in the unit.

At the conclusion of the work assignment, notify UTFI HR so the appropriate action may be taken to terminate the student/staff from payroll.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: Action Request Form, work description, unit approval of action and budget (email or memo).
